We offer degrees and certificates in an array of opportunities ranging from the skilled trades, computer technology, business and accounting, 公共安全, and early child childhood education to fire science, emergency medicine, nursing and allied health. The definition of a caregiver: A skilled helping hand in moments of need for daily living – for the elderly, 给生病的人, 残疾人士.
With new assisted-living facilities slated to come online in the near future, and with several already in operation, the need for certified caregivers in the Flagstaff area and Coconino County is growing. To meet that need, Coconino 社区 College has brought back its Assisted Living Facility Caregiver Certificate program, which begins in January with the spring semester.
Coconino 社区 College needs to offer real-world experience to the students in the Construction 技术 Management program. Habitat for Humanity of Northern Arizona needs workers to help build affordable homes for Flagstaff.
In late May, leaders for the two organizations got together and made the arrangement formal. CCC CTM students will help HFH build the first of, 带着希望, many “starter homes” for the Flagstaff community beginning this fall.
Learning wildfire suppression at CCC
Cascade Parcell and her instructor Brad Williams study the ponderosa pine. They’re looking for “lean” – the direction the tree wants to fall. “I’m going to use wedges on this one,” Parcell says, picking up a chainsaw. She fires up the chainsaw, kneels at the base and starts cutting while Williams carefully watches.
Parcell was one of a handful of students taking the Wildland Fire Chainsaws course in April at Coconino 社区 College. The course is part of a CCC Wildland Fire Suppression Certificate program.

Detention Academy at CCC graduates 10 new officers
Ten new detention officers will be working for the Sheriff’s Office after having graduated from Basic Detention Academy. They were honored with a ceremony on May 14 at the Pepsi Amphitheater at the Fort Tuthill County Fairgrounds.
Wildland Fire Chainsaws - FSC 243
This instructor led course provides an introduction to the function, maintenance and use of internal combustion engine powered chainsaws and their tactical wildland fire applications. Field exercises support entry-level training for firefighters with little, to no previous experience operating a chainsaw. Earn hands-on cutting experience in surroundings similar to real-world fireline situations.
Five (5) Days of Instruction - 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 19 – Friday, April 23, 2021. Prerequisite FSC 233 or special consent of CCC 火灾科学 Program Coordinator.
Gear up for computer support job by year's end with CCC help
Coconino 社区 College will begin offering the Google IT Support Professional Certificate beginning this summer, and the three-class program can be completed before the end of the year.
CCC Launches Automotive Tech Course in Partnership with Findlay Honda Flagstaff
In order to meet a gap in trained automotive technicians locally and throughout the nation, Coconino 社区 College has partnered with Findlay Honda of Flagstaff to create an Automotive Technician program, and it’s scheduled to begin this spring semester.
CCC Nursing 学生 Support Local COVID Vaccination Efforts
As she received answers, Coconino 社区 College Nursing student Jodie Santillan marked off a checklist. She prepared the Moderna COVID-19 vaccination to deliver to Coconino County resident Lita Byerly. She swabbed Byerly’s arm, and before too much thought could be put into whether Byerly would feel it, Santillan delivered the vaccine.
Cloud Computing 证书 now CCC Options for 学生
Coconino 社区 College has joined other colleges across Arizona in a statewide effort to increase access to cloud computing education in schools. 周四, the Arizona Commerce Authority announced the initiative, with the support of Amazon Web Services, 公司., which has a goal to train and certify 5,000 students in the state for entry-level cloud computing careers by June 2022.
